I am a lifelong runner. I was always the kid who would rather run laps at softball practice then actually play. I grew up in Eastern Pa and went to a small high school. When I got the opportunity to run track and field in high school I took full advantage. I would run every event I could; I was even an all-area high jumper. Through the process I found a love for long distance running and joined the cross country team. A few injuries prevented me from running in college, and I was forced to take a long break. In that break I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Communications from California University of Pa. and my Master’s degree in Sport Management from Slippery Rock University.
In 2012, a friend of mine challenged me to the Pittsburgh Marathon 5K. I finished the race second in my age group and was hooked instantly. Exactly one year later, in 2013, I completed the Pittsburgh Marathon! I have completed over 10 half marathons and five full marathons. I have completed a number of multi-day races including the Runner's World Hat Trick and the Goofy Challenge. In 2016 I will be running at least a half marathon in 10 different states!
Outside of running I live with my husband and cat. I love to travel and find new adventures. I have a soft spot for Disney World and an unhealthy obsession with social media and professional wrestling. I love that I get to play a small part in your running journey!
